What is an inflatable arch for races?

An inflatable arch for races is a printed archway held up by air that marks the start and finish of a run, a cycle race or a tournament and carries the event name and sponsor logos. It goes up in around 15 minutes, packs into a bag and comes back for the next edition. Next to it, clubs and organisers put up club tents, course columns and balloons by the stadium – the complete inflatable advertising kit for sport.

At a glance

  • Arches: fan-inflated from 5 × 3 to 10 × 5 m, sealed-air 5 × 3, 6 × 4 and 8 × 4 m, narrow SLIM arches over paths and trails.
  • No power on the course: a sealed-air arch and tent are inflated once, so they stand in a forest clearing or on a beach with no generator.
  • Sponsors on hook-and-loop: interchangeable banners let you change logos and the edition number without making a new arch.
  • One look for the whole zone: columns 2-5 m, air dancers, tents, flags and counters from the same design.
  • Lead time: 10 working days from artwork approval, even for a single piece.

Where race arches and sports gazebos work

Running, cycling, triathlon

An arch at the start and finish, columns at corners and feed stations, a balloon over race HQ. Athletes and spectators know straight away where to go.

Clubs and academies

A club tent with your crest by the pitch: sign-ups, a coach base, scarf sales on match day and shade for parents at junior tournaments.

Sports halls and tournaments

Columns along the touchline, a sphere suspended over the court, an arch at the players' entrance. Indoors there is power, so fan-driven versions run all game.

Stadiums and sponsors

A sponsor balloon or tent at the stadium gate and in the fan zone. The logo is visible from the car park and the stands, and hook-and-loop banners carry over to next season.

Which race arch: fan-inflated, sealed-air or SLIM?

Fan-inflated, when there is power at the start. A fan-inflated arch has a quiet 230 V blower that runs throughout the event. It springs back after a gust of wind, and the choice is widest: arch, rectangle or angled shapes, up to 10 × 5 m. It is the usual pick for a road race, where the event village provides power.

Sealed-air, when the start is in a forest or on a beach. A sealed-air arch is inflated once and stands for several days without power. No cable across the course and no generator humming behind the start line. Sizes 5 × 3, 6 × 4 and 8 × 4 m.

SLIM, when the course is narrow. A SLIM arch has slimmer legs, fits over a cycle path or a park trail and can be set up by one person.

Clearance. Arch width is measured between the legs. For a trail race with a narrow start, 5 × 3 m is usually enough. A mass start in town, a finish with a clock and a photographer, or a support vehicle driving through the arch need 8 × 4 or 10 × 5 m. Leave space beside the legs for guy lines or ballast weights.

Sports gazebo or club tent – which size?

A club tent first and foremost has to travel: to away tournaments, league matches, fetes and camps. That is why clubs most often choose a 4 × 4 m sealed-air tent. It fits in a car boot, stands without power and shelters about 10 people – a junior squad and their coach in a downpour.

The 5 × 5 m version takes about 16 people and works as a race base: the race office, number pick-up and bag drop. The simplest start is a 3 × 3 m pop-up gazebo on a frame – a sign-up point or club shop with no inflation needed.

Our tents already stand at sports venues: a 5 × 5 m fan-inflated tent for the MOSiR sports centre in Elbląg, tents for local clubs and the Motor Lublin speedway tent outside Arena Lublin. These are printed promotional tents, not sports halls or camp accommodation.

How to mark out the course and the event village

A good layout starts with the arch but does not end there. At a typical run or cycling event this set works well:

  • Start and finish: one arch, or two if the start and finish are in different places.
  • Course: inflatable columns 2-5 m at corners, by the feed station and in the transition zone – visible above the athletes' heads.
  • Race HQ: an advertising balloon 3-10 m tall, visible from several hundred metres – nobody asks where to collect their number.
  • Finish and presentation: an airwall with an interchangeable mesh as a sponsor photo wall.

Councils that run fun runs and sports days will find more on our page about council event tents. Rallies and car meets have their own page: motorsport gazebos.

Questions and answers

Sport, races and clubs – questions and answers

How much does an inflatable race arch cost?

Outside Poland we price every arch on request, including print and delivery to your country. The cost depends on the clearance, shape and technology: 5 × 3 m arches are the most affordable, large 10 × 5 m arches the most expensive. You get a quote with a visualisation within 24 hours.

Does a fan-inflated race arch need power?

Yes, a fan-inflated arch has a 230 V blower that runs all the time. If there is no socket at the start, choose a sealed-air arch – it is inflated once and stands for several days without power.

What size of start and finish arch do I need for a race?

For a trail or cross-country race, a 5 × 3 m clearance is usually enough. For a mass start in town, a finish with a clock and a support vehicle passing through, 8 × 4 or 10 × 5 m is better. For a narrow path, choose a SLIM arch.

Can we change the sponsor logos on the arch?

Yes. The arch can have hook-and-loop strips for interchangeable banners, so a new sponsor or the next edition number means a new banner, not a new arch. That is how we made the arch for Sejny County.

Will an inflatable arch cope with wind on the course?

The arch is secured with guy lines and anchors, and on tarmac and paving with water, sand or concrete weights. In very strong wind the structure is taken down and put back up once the gusts have passed.

Will a club tent fit in a car?

Yes, a 4 × 4 m sealed-air tent packed in its bag fits in the boot of a passenger car. Two people put it up in around 15 minutes, with no frame and no power.

How long do I wait for an arch before race day?

Production takes 10 working days from artwork approval, followed by courier delivery. Leave a few days in hand before the event for the artwork and delivery.
