How to choose the right model?
What is arch clearance and why does it decide the size?
Arches are described by their clearance: 5x3 m, 6x4 m, 8x4 m and 10x5 m. This is the free space between the legs and under the beam, the opening that runners or vehicles actually pass through.
The external dimension is larger: an arch with 5x3 m clearance occupies 7.4 x 4.2 m, and the 10x5 m version occupies 13.4 x 6.7 m. On a narrow street or at an entrance gate, it is this second figure that decides whether the structure fits.
How wide a clearance should you choose?
At mass runs, the width of the clearance sets the throughput of the start and finish. At 5 m several people pass side by side; at 10 m a peloton or a technical vehicle fits through.
A height of 3 m covers runners and cyclists. For car and motorcycle passages, 4 m or 5 m is the safer choice.
Straight, arched or angled – which arch shape to choose?
A straight arch has a rectangular clearance and the largest flat print area, so it takes longer wording and larger sponsor logos.
The arched version is easier to recognise in finish-line photographs, and the version with angled corners is a compromise: the cut corners reduce the surface exposed to the wind while keeping a straight beam for print.
How does leg diameter affect wind resistance?
Leg diameter grows with the size: from 1.2 m on the 5x3 m arch to 1.5 m on the 10x5 m. A thicker leg means a stiffer structure, but also a larger side surface exposed to the wind.
Regardless of size, the arch is secured with guy lines and pegs or with ballast bags, selected according to the ground at the installation site.
Can you swap banners instead of buying a new arch?
Banners fixed with hook-and-loop tape are available for the arches: for the angled corners, for the beam and for the legs. They allow the sponsor to be changed without replacing the whole structure.
If one arch is to serve several events in a season, the version with replaceable banners costs less than a separate arch for each event.
What customisation options are available for inflatable arches?
We offer full advertising print across the whole surface of the fan-inflated arch, plus the option of attaching additional banners with hook-and-loop tape, which makes changing the advertising message straightforward.
Why do you see start finish arches at every sports event?
Start finish arches are a go-to large-format advertising tool, especially popular for sporting events. Inflatable arches always play a key role, clearly marking the START/FINISH line and becoming a signature feature of the opening and closing moments of any race or competition. Using this striking piece of kit is essential for any brand that wants to stand out and promote itself effectively.
Printing a large logo on an inflatable arch guarantees excellent brand visibility not just during the event itself, but also across event media coverage afterward. This subtle yet powerful form of advertising makes your business instantly recognizable – both during the event and long after it wraps up.
Investing in a pneumatic start finish arch isn't just a smart move for effective promotion – it's also a sure way to stand out from competitors.
Why are inflatable arches so practical?
Start finish arches, also known as blower-powered inflatable arches,
set up quickly and easily. Pull the arch out of its carry bag, lay it flat on the ground – that's step one. Next, just plug in the power cord and the quiet blower gets to work, filling the arch with air. Within just a few minutes, the arch takes full shape and is ready to be raised.
The last step is lifting the inflatable arch upright and anchoring it to the ground. You'll use the ground stakes included in the full accessory kit for this. And voilà – your impressive arch is ready to go! You get a dynamic advertising centerpiece plus the convenience and reliability that sets our arches apart from traditional solutions. See for yourself how simple it is to create a striking display with inflatable arches.
