3.5 m advertising sphere – construction and use

The double skin advertising sphere with a diameter of 3.5 m is a balloon filled with helium or air, with an outer skin made of 200 g/m² polyurethane fabric. Helium capacity is 22.4 m³. The entire surface is UV printed to the customer's design.

The product works tethered on an anchor line or as a suspended element. The helium version floats above the event site, while the air filled version is used indoors and under roofing.

How do the print and the graphics work?

Printing is done using the UV method on all panels of the sphere, with the option to cover 100% of the surface. Graphics can therefore include a logo, background and decorative elements spread across the whole sphere, with no unprinted bands.

Artwork preparation is part of the order and is based on the materials supplied by the customer.

Inflation and installation

Helium filling is done with the hose and nozzle included in the set. For air operation, a hand pump and an electric pump are available as options.

The mounting lines are woven into the structure during production, and the main anchor line is part of the set. Suspension brackets are ordered separately as an optional extra.

Set, service and options

Each sphere comes with a user manual, a repair kit and a transport bag into which the product folds once deflated. The repair kit allows minor abrasions of the skin to be fixed without sending the sphere back to the manufacturer.

The product is covered by a 24 month warranty. LED lighting mounted inside the skin allows the sphere to be used after dark.

How much helium is needed to fill a 3.5 m sphere?

A 3.5 m diameter advertising sphere has a helium capacity of 22.4 m³. Filling is done with the hose and helium nozzle supplied with the product. Alternatively, the sphere can be filled with air using a hand pump or an electric pump.

Can the sphere fly, or does it only stand on the ground?

Filled with helium the sphere rises and works as a tethered balloon – the set includes the main anchor line and a web of mounting lines fitted during production. The air filled version does not rise and has to be suspended or placed on the ground.

Does the print cover the whole surface of the sphere?

Yes, 100% of the surface can be printed, across all panels. The graphics are applied using UV printing. Artwork preparation is included in the order.

What exactly is included in the set?

The set includes the sphere with full UV print, the web of mounting lines, the main anchor line, a hose with a helium filling nozzle, a repair kit, a user manual and a transport bag. Pumps, LED lighting and suspension brackets are optional extras.

Can the sphere be illuminated in the evening?

Yes, optional LED lighting installed inside the sphere is available. It has to be ordered together with the product, as it is not part of the standard set.

How is a 3.5 m sphere transported?

Once deflated, the sphere folds into the transport bag supplied with it. Courier delivery to the customer is insured.

Can the sphere be suspended from a hall ceiling?

Yes, suspension brackets can be fitted to the sphere. The brackets are an optional extra and are installed during production, so this needs to be specified with the order.

What does the warranty cover?

The manufacturer provides a full 24 month warranty on the finished product. The sphere also comes with a repair kit for fixing minor damage to the skin yourself, plus after sales support.

How long does the product hold air without topping up?

The air holds for about 7 days, after which the structure needs a gentle top-up. For displays running longer than a week, plan a short pressure check, particularly when day and night temperatures differ widely.
