Description

Construction and use of the GIGANT 6 m sphere

The GIGANT advertising sphere is an inflatable sphere 6 m in diameter with a helium capacity of 113 m³, built as a double-skin structure with an outer skin made of polyurethane fabric weighing 200 g/m². It can be filled with helium and flown above a site, or filled with air and placed on the ground.

At this diameter the sphere works as a landmark for large outdoor events: festivals, sports competitions, trade fairs and venue openings. Pricing for the printed version is available on request.

What material is it made of and how is it printed?

The outer skin is polyurethane fabric of 200 g/m². Graphics are applied using the UV method, on all panels of the sphere, with the option of printing 100% of the surface.

Because every panel is printed, the artwork can run as one continuous composition across the whole sphere rather than a logo on a single side. Printing is carried out during production, before the skin is stitched together.

Filling with helium or air

Helium filling is done with the hose and nozzle included in the set; a full fill requires 113 m³ of gas. In the air version the sphere is inflated with an electric or hand pump, both available as optional equipment.

The choice between helium and air determines how the sphere is displayed: helium lets it fly on the anchor line, while air suits a ground installation or suspension.

Mounting and suspension

The mounting lines are woven into the sphere during production and form a web that spreads the load across the whole skin. The main anchor line clips onto this web and is supplied together with the sphere.

If the sphere is to hang under a hall structure, a stage or an arch, optional suspension brackets can be ordered. LED lighting for display after dark is also available separately.

Set, transport and service

Besides the sphere and the lines, the set contains a transport bag, a repair kit, a helium filling hose and a user manual. Once the gas is released, the sphere fits into the bag along with the accessories.

The repair kit allows minor abrasions of the skin to be patched without returning the product. The sphere comes with a 24-month warranty.

Questions and answers

How much helium is needed to fill a 6 m advertising sphere?

The sphere holds 113 m³ of helium. A filling hose with a nozzle is included in the set.

Can the sphere be filled with air instead of helium?

Yes, the sphere is designed for filling with either air or helium. For air filling, an electric pump and a hand pump are available as options.

How is the sphere secured in place?

The sphere is secured by a web of mounting lines woven in during production and by a main anchor line, both included in the set. Suspension brackets can be ordered as an option if the sphere is to hang above the event area.

Can the entire surface of the sphere be printed?

Yes, 100% of the surface can be printed, across all panels. Printing is done using the UV method.

What is included in the set?

The set includes: the sphere with full UV print, the web of mounting lines, the main anchor line, a helium filling hose with nozzle, a repair kit, a transport bag and a user manual. The product comes with a 24-month warranty.

Can the sphere be lit after dark?

Yes, LED lighting mounted to the sphere is available as an option. It is not part of the standard set.

How should a 6 m sphere be transported and stored?

A transport bag is included in the set, and the sphere is folded into it once the gas or air has been released. The lines and the repair kit are best kept in the same bag.

What should be done if the skin loses air?

A repair kit is supplied with the sphere so that minor damage to the skin can be patched without outside help. The product comes with a 24-month warranty.

How long does the product hold air without topping up?

The air holds for about 7 days, after which the structure needs a gentle top-up. For displays running longer than a week, plan a short pressure check, particularly when day and night temperatures differ widely.
