Air dancer and inflatable column set for Renault

A matching pair: an air dancer and an inflatable column, both printed in full by UV.

About the project

What did ARIO make for Renault?

This project is an air dancer made for Renault, printed in the colours set out in the client’s brand guidelines. We match the size and the version to the site — every model we make is listed in the Air Dancers (Sky Dancers) category.

How does an air dancer work at shows and owners’ meets?

Dealers and importers put an air dancer where a customer meets the car for the first time: at test drives, trade fairs and owners’ meets. The structure in brand colours marks the zone from the other end of the car park, and after the event it goes back to the store room in a transport bag. Nothing is bolted, welded or built on site, so the same set travels the whole calendar for Renault.

At what kind of events is an air dancer used?

  • seasonal sales and openings — a week of movement noticed from the other side of the road
  • outside showrooms, supermarkets and petrol stations — advertising seen from the road
  • trade fairs and exhibitions — the movement that makes one stand stand out
  • festivals and outdoor events — colour and motion at the entrance
  • sports events — marking the fan zone and cheering the team on

What does an air dancer add to a brand’s presence?

We sew sky dancers from light spinnaker fabric, the same cloth that sails are made from, with a full print that resists water and abrasion. The base is a frame with a blower; taken out of its cover, the air dancer is ready at once, with no extra weights to carry. How wild the dance is can be set by changing the diameter of the opening at the top, and waving arms or streamers add to the movement.

Worth knowing: where the irregular rhythm comes from

An air dancer has no mechanism at all. It dances because the stream of air from the blower keeps losing its balance inside the narrow fabric tube. That instability is the feature, not a fault: it makes the movement irregular and impossible to predict, so the eye cannot learn to ignore it the way it ignores a flag waving at a steady rate. The effect is strongest when nothing stands directly in front of the air intake.

Which size and version should you order?

We make air dancers 4 to 8 m tall, with one or two legs. A 4 m model is enough outside a shop or beside a stand, while 6 m and more belongs on open ground, where the figure has to be seen from the other side of the square. Every set includes the blower and the base. An air dancer pairs naturally with inflatable columns, which turn the same forecourt into a marked brand zone.

How do you order an air dancer with your own print?

All we need is your logo and the date of the event. The print visualisation comes to you for approval free of charge, production in our own factory in Poland takes 10 working days, and the manufacturer’s warranty covers the whole set. Shipping anywhere in Europe is arranged with the order and quoted individually. Write through the contact form — we answer within 24 hours on working days.
