5 m St. Martin's croissant hanging in Avenida
A sealed-air croissant figure with a span of approx. 5 m and full print, hung under the roof of the Avenida shopping centre in Poznań.
A St. Martin's croissant with a span of around 5 metres, hung under the glass roof of the Avenida shopping centre in Poznań for the St. Martin's Day season. It is a custom 3D shape with layers of dough and icing, made with sealed-air technology: inflated once, it keeps its shape with no blower and no cable above the atrium.
The brief
The client needed a figure visible from every level of the mall, safe to hang above visitors and looking like a real pastry from every side, including from below.
The solution
- A 3D model in dedicated 3D modelling software: the shape, panel layout and print layout prepared before production, with a visualisation for the client's approval.
- Double-skin construction: an airtight, transparent polyurethane bladder inside and a cover with full CMYK print outside.
- Heat-welded, reinforced rigging eyelets, their number calculated for a secure and safe installation and their placement based on the shape's centre of gravity, for hanging and levelling by rope-access technicians.
The result
The croissant was hung above the atrium, the escalators and the promotional zone, visible from the ground floor, the mezzanine and the escalators on the way up. With the same technology we produce any pastry, product or package at large scale.
