What the 6 m two-legged air dancer is
The air dancer is a 6-metre figure made of coated polyester fabric of 80 g/m², held upright by the airflow from the fan included in the set. The sleeve is 43 cm in diameter and the figure stands on two legs that move independently of each other.
The body is fitted with extra hair strands and waving frills. These elements widen the range of fabric movement while the fan is running.
What material is this model made of?
Coated polyester fabric at 80 g/m² is light enough for the legs and frills to react to the airflow, and closed by a coating that limits air permeability. This lets the fan hold the shape of the whole figure across its full 6 m height.
The coating also serves as the base for the graphics, which stay legible on both sides of the sleeve.
How do the print and the graphics work?
Graphics are applied in sublimation technology, in which the dye penetrates the structure of the polyester fibre. The print does not form a stiff layer, so it does not restrict the movement of the frills or hair strands.
The print can cover 100% of the air dancer surface – from the feet to the upper part of the body. This makes it possible to reproduce a full character, a mascot or a corporate colour scheme instead of a single logo.
Set-up, power and lighting
Start-up consists of fitting the air dancer body onto the fan from the set and switching the airflow on. When the fan stops, the fabric drops, so the product can be packed down quickly and moved to another spot on the event site.
For use after dark, external lighting is provided in the form of LED floodlights aimed at the printed surface.
Where does this model work best?
The 6 m height and the small footprint of the 43 cm sleeve mean the air dancer is set up at entrances, in car parks, along running routes and next to trade stands in open areas.
The moving two-legged figure works as a marker on site: it shows where a stand, a start zone or a showroom is, also when the view is blocked by cars or tents.
